Deep Ellum Arts Festival 2009, Artist Monica Fallini

The "Deep Ellum Arts Festival" was something amazing from my perspective !. A great festival, an urban setting in downtown Dallas with great views of the skyline, very friendly people, a multitude of personalities. The Deep Ellum nights were really fun and lively and in the end I must say that I am captivated by this area and its people since I visited for the first time last year. Something is "in the air" that attracts me strongly...
Thank you to all the people that stopped by my booth and either spoke to me beautiful words showing their support of my art or/and to those clients and art patrons that supporting my work help me and artists alike to keep painting and creating a dream of colors and texture.

Cotton field painting, work in progress - April 1st.

Some time ago while in Louisiana, I was amazed by the beauty of some cotton fields, I took several pictures and I started this painting a week ago, it is not completed yet, I will upload more pictures next week. Since I like how it sounds in Spanish I decided to name it " Campos de algodon", cotton fields. This is an acrylic textured painting, I applied several layers of acrylic paint and texture media, I used palette knives and brushes as well. It will dry in 24 hours. The staples' free sides of the canvas are painted black and it is sold wired and ready to hang. The painting is signed on the front and signed and dated on the back.

Cat's eyes collection daily paintings - March 7th.

It is a long time since I wanted to start this new series of little paintings and I didn't find the time to do it, well .. today I painted the first piece of the collection of a series of studies of feline eyes. This first one is the study of the eye-sight of a white little kitten with blue eyes. Some of the colors used are: Prussian blue, ultramarine blue, burnt umber, burnt sienna, cadmiun red, cerulean blue, azo yellow light, ivory black and titanium white, oil paints.

They are painted on little unstretched canvases, they will be matted and framed later. They can be purchased unstretched and unframed, the buyer can choose to custom frame it later.

There will be more pieces to add to this collection, so keep checking the blog and feel free to comment on them, I would love to hear from you !

They are unique and each cat has his/her own personality, some of them will be well known to me little fellas, some others will "pose" just for the painting.

Framed paintings, cat portrait and country landscape

I just framed these 2 pieces today, these were painted in 2008 as part of the daily paintings project, they are oil on clay board and now that they are framed and ready to hang they look really neat. The price changed also so I'm posting new pictures and new purchase information. I applied 2 layers of varnish to the wooden frames for protection.
