Today's painting is part of a series of sketches I'm working on, painted on a book of handmade in India watercolor paper.
I based this sketch on a previous daily painting, year 2009.
Since this painting is part of that book, it is not available for sale at the moment. After I complete the book of sketches I will put it for sale.
The book will be a great addition to any art collection, it can also be displayed on a coffee table or the sheets can be separated to frame the individual sketches.
It will contain more than 70 original sketches in different media and different subjects.

Surf and rocks daily painting - March 3rd.

I received some new photos of the coast of Uruguay this weekend, so I will base some of my daily paintings on them. Summer is ending there now and the pictures are beautiful, my father that is the photographer, captured the surf breaking on big rocks among other subjects.
This is the first painting from that series of pictures that continues on the series: "International Project on Seascapes" . I will also paint one or two large seascapes this year.

COUNTRY LANDSCAPE - January 27th.

This week I'm back with a more realistic approach. Starting today with this country landscape. I took a picture of the landscape after I completed the painting but It was much more cloudy now.
I have the feeling that there are going to be only a few of this semi-realistic paintings on the following months. I'm working mostly on abstract art lately, I'm still doing the textured paintings with or without poppies, on the medium size pieces.
I will be working on more textured Hydrangeas this year as well as the little seascapes, and last Friday I spent a couple of hours on a photography session on several beautiful kittens I had the chance to meet. They are going to be present on the daily paintings 2010 for sure!

I've been using dripping as a technique for some of my abstract paintings of medium size during 2009. I'll probably keep working on these abstractions next year.
These are two 8" x 10" pieces that now belong to the daily paintings series and are studies for larger paintings.

In the Yogic tradition there is a mantra used to bring peace to oneself, our surroundings and to expand that peace to the world, the mantra is OM SHANTI SHANTI SHANTI.
Shanti means peace in Sanskrit.

Yellow flowers wild nature - December 12th.

This past week my inspiration is set in yellow mostly, something is going on in the vibration of color yellow in my life these days.

I dressed in yellow, I painted some sketches in yellow and today one of my favorite wild flowers had to come up on the canvas. I suddenly felt the urge to paint them.

I wanted to do a medium size painting, 22" x 22", but just today I'm out canvas for this size. So I grabbed one that Martin had reserved for one of his paintings and used it right away, the size of this one is 12" x 16".

Now, I am thinking how I am going to explain the missing canvas to Martin ;)

Any ideas ? ...
