CONTEMPORARY DECO - BRINGING COLOR, TEXTURE AND MOVEMENT TO YOUR LIFE !!!
Hi! I'm back, I had a kind of vacation these days, I travel to Washington DC with my husband's karate school for the National championships, he represented the southwestern states and Texas in this competition and it was a wonderful experience for me !, I couldn't take my painting materials with me this time so it was like a vacation for me, it was a long time since I take one anyway...I didn't have time to do much sightseeing but what I could see was beautiful ! and one thing that I found really interesting and great was the multicultural character of this area, people from all over the world visiting and living there too, one can hear them speaking in different languages, that was great ! We met people from Camerun, Etiopia, Israel, Brazil, Iran, France, Italy, Japan, Venezuela, Panama, and of course from many different parts of the USA !!! Now, back in my studio I am working on getting more art supplies to go back to work, I have many ideas in my mind and I cannot wait to put them on the canvas right away ! Thank you for your support and I will be posting new daily paintings soon. Have a wonderful day !!!, Monica
I am trying new techniques, media and supports, so these days I decided to paint on wood with acrylic paint for my daily paintings series. I am still working on my larger pieces in oils and acrylics every day, that are not listed in this blog.

I painted this abstract floral today, with a palette knife and oil paint, very high texture !, red flowers among green plants. It is drying, will be ready for shipping on June 24th. Title: "A piece of garden dream II" Highly textured impasto, palette knife. Medium: oils on stretched canvas with staples on the back, painting continues on the sides. Size: 8" x 8" SOLD
It took me three days to finish this painting that will belong to day June 5th. Some days ago a little bird started building her nest on a corner under my porche and that corner happens to be located exactly in front of where I usually work in my studio, so I can see the nest from the studio window !, now the window have a screen that prevents me from seeing details, so I went outside several times trying to get pictures but the bird flies away... so I decided to go ahead and paint it from inside, just the way I see it. Now, the roses where in bloom some days ago, now they are not, probably preparing for a second blooming, so since that was a nice touch, I painted the roses the way I remember them when they were in bloom. Here is the result and I hope that you enjoy it ! Have a wonderful weekend and contact me if you have any questions, Monica.
Title: "Nesting" Media: oils on stretched canvas, with staples' free sides. Size: 8" x 8"
