Painting study of a cloud - December 31st., 2008

This is my last daily painting of year 2008 !, I want to take a few lines to express my appreciation for all the people that in one way or another supported me in my career as an artist, thank you all for your continuous support of original art in general and my art in particular !.

Cloud study on blue sky oil painting - December 29th.

Today's post is about this study of a cloud in the blue sky. This past month the cloud formations in the skies of Marietta and Avinger (Texas) were fantastic ! I took several pictures and other wonderful photos were taken by Martin G. Silva who allows me to use some of his to base some of my paintings. This one in particular is a study based on one of his pictures. It took me several hours of work, concentration and details oriented mind this past weekend, and the good news is that I achieved what I wanted on the little piece. Extreme texture, abstract floral painting 2 - December 18th.

Last night I went back to painting, my eyes are going back to normal little by little, I felt like painting something very abstract and with a very high texture at the same time, I abstracted myself from a picture of flowers in a garden in my mind. I used acrylic paint on masonite hand prepared board. I will apply some layers of varnish, probably a glossy one.
These paintings will look beautiful on a frame !
